Testing the Canon R7 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Today was all about testing out the newest addition to our filming setup for Holmes Away From Home and I have to say… the Canon R7 absolutely impressed me from the very first shot.

We headed out to Disney's Animal Kingdom for a quick adventure before the Florida storms rolled in, and it turned out to be the perfect place to put this camera to the test. From colorful scenery and live entertainment to incredible wildlife, the R7 captured every detail beautifully.

One of the first things I noticed was just how sharp and vibrant everything looked. The colors around Harambe Village seemed to jump right off the screen. The textures of the buildings, reflections in the water, and even the smallest details in the trees and pathways looked cinematic.

The live entertainment was also a perfect test for the camera. The movement, bright colors, and natural lighting gave me a chance to really see what this setup could do in a busy environment. So far, I’m honestly blown away.

Of course, the real stars of the day were the animals.

We spotted gorillas relaxing in the afternoon heat, a beautiful zebra grazing peacefully, and some amazing birds throughout the park. Every photo seemed to capture personality and emotion in a way that made the experience feel even more alive.

But the highlight of the entire visit was easily the tiger.

I believe this may have been Bakso, the young Sumatran tiger at Animal Kingdom who is around one to two years old. Watching him move through the habitat was incredible. Powerful, calm, and absolutely stunning. The photos from this moment may honestly be some of my favorites I’ve ever captured.

The Canon R7 handled the tiger shots beautifully, especially with the detail in the fur, the eyes, and the motion as he walked along the ruins. These were the moments that really showed me what this camera is capable of.

Unfortunately, the storms started moving in and cut our visit a little short, but honestly, this quick trip made me even more excited for what’s ahead.

In just two weeks, we’ll be heading out on another amazing adventure, and now with the Canon R7 added to our filming lineup, I truly cannot wait to bring even better videos, photos, and stories to all of you.
